I graduated in Chemistry from the Universitat Jaume I de Castellón (UJI) in September 2000. My PhD research (2003-2008) was developed at the same University under the supervision of Prof. Santiago V. Luis and Prof. Francisco Galindo and focused on the development and application of advanced organic polymers.

From March 2009 to June 2014, I joined Prof. Fernando Pina’s group at Universidade Nova de Lisboa as a postdoctoral fellow. My work was centered on the development of photochromic and thermochromic systems based on flavylium dyes and the study of the aggregation of their natural analogues – anthocyanins. Also, taking advantage of my PhD experience, I designed new multi-stimuli responsive polymers using flavylium dyes.

From July 2014 to July 2016, I joined Prof. Laura Rodríguez’s group at Universitat de Barcelona with a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship, and I developed new luminescent supramolecular materials (hydrogels, vesicles, micelles, among others) and optical sensors based on gold(I) compounds.

From November 2016 to February 2019, I held a Project Researcher position at the Henkel-ICIQ Joint Unit. During this time, I worked on the development of high-performance polymer adhesives through novel trigger or cure reactions.

Since March 2019 to October 2020, I was a postdoctoral researcher at UJI and my research project dealt with the development of new photoactive materials for biological applications.

Since October 2020 I hold a position as Profesor Ayudante Doctor at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and my research focuses on the development of new covalent organic frameworks with optical properties.

Up to date, I have published 39 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, and I am corresponding author in 7 of them. My h-index is 15 and my papers have received 633 citations (Web of Science, 16-06-2021). I have participated in 15 research projects and actions funded through competitive international and national calls. I have presented my work as oral communications and lectures in 9 international and national conferences.
