PhD in Chemical Sciences and currently assitant professor of the Madrid Autonomous University(October 2011). I have previously worked as a teacher and researcher in different public and private universities (Universidad Pontificia Comillas-ICAI, Universidad Alfonso X “el Sabio”, Universidad Complutense de Madrid). In addition to an intense teaching activity (more than 5000 hours), I have participated in 15 research projects, both national and international, being principal investigator of 4 of them. I have published approximately 89 scientific articles in international journals.
I do research in the design of new coordination polymers with molecular recognition and response to stimuli, which can be used in the fabrication of complex nanodevices. I have acted as reviewer for journals such as Inorg. Chem., Chem. Sci., Polymers, ICA, Eur. J. Mat…. I am also a collaborator of the Coordination and Evaluation subdivision of the State Research Agency (AEI).
In the last 6 years I have supervised, 2 doctoral theses and 3 more in progress, 11 final degree works and 5 final master works, I have given about 9 conferences and participated in more than 18 international and national congresses.
I have also collaborated and directed projects of innovation and improvement of teaching quality, and for 8 years I have coordinated the science outreach project, Knowing science today opens the doors of tomorrow (www.nanomadrid.net ), funded by the Spanish Foundation of Science and Technology and the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry, conducting educational workshops in different schools. I have coordinated the Day of Scientific Dissemination entitled “The Thousand Faces of the periodic table”, held at the Autonomous University of Madrid on November 14, 2019. I have obtained the Third prize of the I Edition of the Contest “Science at School” of the UAM, (2014), the Salvador Senent 2015 award. And I have been winner of the first prize of the contest “Las tablas periódicas 2019”, convened by the Faculty of Sciences of the Autonomous University of Madrid.
