In October 2011, I obtained a position as a Professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid, previously working as a teacher and researcher at different universities, both public and private (Universidad Pontificia Comillas-ICAI, Universidad Alfonso X “El Sabio”, Complutense University of Madrid. Since July 2022 I have been a Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry Department at the UAM. In addition to an intense teaching activity (more than 6700 hours). I have participated in 21 research projects, both national and international, being the main researcher of 9 of them. I have published approximately 103 scientific articles majority of them deposit in open access in public repositories. Citations (January 2024): 3145; h-index: 29; i10-index: 53 (from 2019-; 1524; h index 20). I belong to the nanomaterials research group at UAM (www.nanomater.es). I investigate the design of new coordination polymers with molecular recognition and response to stimuli that can be used in the manufacture of complex nanodevices or current as downconverters in photovoltaic modules. I have acted as an evaluator for scientific journals such as Inorg. Chem., Chem. Sci., Polymers, ICA, Eur. J. Mat. Etc. I am also collaborator of the Coordination and Evaluation subdivision of the State Research Agency (AEI) of PROJECTS CALL FOR YOUNG DOCTORS 2021 OF THE UCM (MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE COMMUNITY OF MADRID), and evaluator for the Ministry of Science and Innovation in the ‘Incentives for Research Consolidation 2023’. Additionally, I´m president of the Chair created by the “Regional Institute of Safety and Health at Work and the Autonomous University of Madrid (IRSST-UAM)” titled: R&D&i in the prevention of occupational risks from the point of view of green chemistry and circular economy (2023-2026) (https://www.catedraquimicaverde.es/ ). Secretary of the “Institute for Advanced Research in Chemical of the UAM (IAdChem)” (https://www.iadchem.uam.es/ ). I have directed 4 doctoral theses , one of them Accésits (Mº Cruz Moreno Bondi award) for the best doctoral theses in chemistry in the Community of Madrid 2023, and 3 more in progress, 22 final degree projects and 9 final master’s projects. I have given 23 national and international conferences and participated in around 64 chemistry meetings. I have also collaborated and directed projects for innovation and improvement of teaching quality, and for 13 years I have been coordinating the scientific dissemination project, “Knowing science Today opens the doors of Tomorrow”, subsidized by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) and by the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (Madrid territorial section) (RSEQ-STM) (www.nanomadrid.net ), conducting educational workshops in different educational centers. I have coordinated several Scientific Dissemination Conferences such as those entitled “The Thousand Faces of the Periodic Table”, “The energy transition: is it really sustainable?”, “Transformer 4: the chemical side of the mania virus”, held at the Autonomous University of Madrid on November 14, 2019, June 17 and October 27, 2022 respectively. Finally, mention that I have obtained the next awards: Third prize of the I Edition of the “Science at School” Contest of the UAM, (2014), the “Salvador Senent 2015” prize, the first prize of the “Periodic Tables 2019” convened by the Faculty of Sciences of the Autonomous University of Madrid, and the 3er place in the “1st RIS4CIVIS Science Communication Award 2024”, by the Knowing Science Today Opens the Doors of Tomorrow project.
